Dukes Dispatch started in a one-room office in 2006 with three trucks and a CB radio. Twenty years later, we're still owner-operator owned and operated — and we still answer the phone ourselves.
Before we ran Dukes, we ran trucks. We paid 10% to dispatchers who never picked up the phone, who loaded us on deadhead-heavy lanes, who ghosted when detention came up, and who locked us into year-long contracts we couldn't get out of.
So in 2006, we built the dispatch service we wished we'd had as owner-operators. One personal dispatcher per carrier. Flat fees, no percentages. No contracts, no forced dispatch. A real human on the other end of the radio at 2am.
Twenty years later, that's still the entire business model. We've never raised rates beyond cost-of-living. We've never missed payroll to a partner. We've never quit on a carrier who needed us at 3am on a Sunday.
We're not the biggest dispatch service. We're not trying to be. We're the one you call when you want your dispatcher to actually know your name.
Every dispatcher on our floor has 5+ years running trucks or dispatching — most have both. They know your lanes, your brokers, and your state's permit maze.
8 years flatbed dispatch out of Atlanta. Knows every oversize corridor in the Southeast by heart. Doesn't sleep before 1am.
Owner-op for 6 years before joining the floor. Built our no-touch drop-and-hook program from scratch. Texas lanes.
Reefer specialist. Keeps a spreadsheet of every produce season in the country. Will text you back before you've put the phone down.
15 years in logistics. Maintains our partner-fleet roster. The guy who gets detention recovered when no one else can.
Insurance certs, factoring setup, compliance. The reason your paperwork is always done before you ask.
Founder. Still takes calls on Saturdays. Drove his own truck for 11 years before starting Dukes in '06.
It helps to be clear about the things we won't do, because most of our competitors do them.
"If we ever stop answering the phone, stop fighting for your detention, or start sending you loads you don't want — quit on us. We'll understand. That's the deal."
Tell us about your rig, your lanes, your goals. We'll tell you if we're the right fit — even if we're not.
